ISU is organized exclusively for the purpose of working with International Student Unions and to enhance the quality of life for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The vision of ISU is to; link International Student Unions at national, regional and state forums; encourage International Student Unions to pursue graduate and professional study; network Student Unions in pursuit of public, private, and non-profit employment; maximize the participation of International Student Unions in select campus curricular and co-curricular activities, undergraduate research and student government/leadership.

We have Academic Affairs Team, Athletic Affairs Team, Activities & Events Team, Community & Welfare Team, Diversity Engagement Team, Safety & Wellness Team, Students Arts Team, Sustainability Team,  and Disabled Students Team.

The Academic Affairs Team shall be responsible for addressing the academic and educational concerns of students, both inside and outside the classroom, and for representing the study body by addressing student academic concerns to the college/university administration.

The Athletic Affairs Team is responsible for addressing the views and concerns of students regarding recreational, amateur and varsity athletics at the University. The Team goal is to sustain dialogue and bridge the gap between the Athletic Department, IM Rec, Student Council and students on grounds.

The Activities & Events Team will be primarily concerned with the non-academic development of Members, and will encourage and support the development of Clubs and Societies. They will additionally be responsible for financial matters of Clubs and Societies, including the awarding of extra funding. The Activities & Events Team also covers Union Colours and Awards, skills development and volunteering.

The Community & Welfare Team of the ISU shall serve the student body by connecting students to peers, faculty, community partners and opportunities to promote an active civic life. Additionally, the team shall strengthen ties between the country and the students at the University so that students may better engage with and serve the public.

The mission of the Diversity Engagement Team is to support and sustain diversity initiatives from multicultural organizations across Grounds as well as work with administrators to address problems voiced by students, offering resources for students and events for students to attend.

The Safety & Wellness Team serves as the primary support system for all safety and wellness related organizations, both at the University and in the UK.  Additionally, members of the team actively seek to address concerns in such a way that streamlines discussion on related topics, advocates collaboration among different groups, and provides necessary resources.

Student Arts seeks to identify, communicate, and satisfy the needs of the arts community at the University by providing resources, accessibility, and support to anyone wishing to engage in the arts through participation or observation.

The Sustainability Team seeks to build a community of students, staff, faculty, and alumni passionately concerned about sustainability and the world we inhabit, as well as to protect and improve the rights, opportunities, and quality of life for the community through environmental sustainability.

The Disability team offers disabled students a range of specialist support and assistance including: support from a named disability coordinator, liaison with academic departments, sign language interpreting, making alternative examination arrangements, arranging extended library loans, organising adaptations to University accommodation, advising on sources of funding , helping with the completion of funding and other disability-related forms.
